About Us

LeeU Worship is a collective of student musicians, song writers, and worship leaders who lead in worship in the weekly chapel services and special events at Lee University.  In addition to leading in the weekly chapel services, the members of LeeU Worship meet weekly designing and programming worship experiences specifically developed for college students, writing original songs that not only identify with the styles of worship of this current college generation, but making statements followers of Christ long to sing.

Dr. Brad Moffett is the director of LeeU Worship.  Moffett has been leading worship for 31 years in local churches, conventions, conferences, and at Lee University for the past 12 years.  As a professor of music at Lee, Moffett brings a passion for excellence in music with a heart to enable the worship of God’s people through the corporate worship experience.  Moffett’s current passion for the LeeU Worship team is to mentor and encourage the gifts of song writing and worship leading in young musicians.

Born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Nate Claggett is the bass guitar player for LeeU Worship.  He takes his musical influences from a variety of different musicians from different genres of music including Tye Tribbett and Greater Anointing, Weather Report, Rush, Stevie Wonder, Marcus Miller, and Israel and New Breed. Since starting his musical journey, Nate has been blessed to tour all over the East Coast, the Caribbean and Guatemala, as well as worked on several recordings, and shared the stage with artists like Kirk Franklin, Eddie James, and Clark Beckham.

Music plays a central role in the life of Aaron Dick.  A Communications Arts major at Lee, Aaron says, “I thank God that I get to serve His purpose through this medium.”  From Birmingham, Alabama, Aaron has been involved with music since he was 10 years old. Aaron plays drums, keyboard instruments. And enjoys programming and producing synth and loop tracks for the LeeU Worship team.

Caroline Hamby is a Senior Music and Worship major from Tampa, Florida. She has been a part of music in the church ever since she can remember, and this is her third year on the LeeU Worship team. She is also a member of the Lee University Chorale. Caroline is a singer-songwriter who plays the guitar, piano, and ukelele. Some of her musical influences include: Kari Jobe, Amanda Cook and Rita Springer, as well as musician Colbie Callait and songwriter James Taylor.

Michael James grew up in the small town of Kannapolis, NC, located just outside of Charlotte.  He started playing guitar when he was fifteen and was greatly influenced by artists like Keith Urban, John Mayer, Jimi Hendrix, Bon Iver, James Duke and many more. Michael says, “the biggest influence on me musically came from my musician friends that I made at Lee University.”  He also says, “as far as interesting facts go, singing with the mass choir from Lee at President Obama’s inauguration in 2013 was by far a major highlight in my college career.”

Savannah Ogle is a Junior Music and Worship major from West Monroe, Louisiana. She began taking piano lessons at the age of five and has been playing and singing ever since. Raised in a worship pastor’s home, Savannah has led worship in the local church as long as she can remember. Along with the LeeU Worship team, Savannah is also a member of the Lee University Singers, and serves as the student director of the the Singers’ worship band, Second Edition.  Her musical inspirations include Darlene Zschech, Jenn Johnson, and Steffany Gretzinger.


Carlos Rising is a senior Music Business with an emphasis in commercial guitar major at Lee University. Originally from Greensboro NC, Carlos has aspirations of ministering to people through music, both in church settings and through the commercial music industry. Rising was called into the music ministry at the young age of 12, and seeks to bless people with his music gifts and writing abilities, which have been cultivated and refined through the opportunities given to him while a student at Lee. Carlos has actively traveled and toured across the United States with various ensembles and currently helps lead worship at multiple churches in Atlanta GA and Cleveland/Chattanooga TN.

Nick Rodriguez is a former Lee University student from Cleveland, TN. During his time at Lee, Nick was able to contribute to some of the first original music written by the LeeU Worship team, and has see it flourish in the hands of so many talented musicians. Nick currently serves as the Worship Pastor at Canton Church located in Canton, Georgia. He continues to create, serve, and pour into the next generation of worshippers.

Spencer Southern, a senior music major at Lee University with an emphasis in guitar, is from Winston-Salem.  Some of his musical inspirations are James Duke, Switchfoot, John Mayer, and Steven Curtis Chapman. It wasn’t until his senior year of high school that he realized he had a passion for music, but he continues to pursue that through a college education. Spencer also enjoys hiking and spending time with family and friends.

David Virgo is a senior Pastoral Ministries major at Lee University. He is a native of Paterson, NJ, but now calls Athens, Ga home for the past 10 years. Gleaning from his inspirations such as Kari Jobe, The Gaithers, Jaye Thomas, and Planetshakers, he strives to write songs that hold biblical truths for the edification of the body of Christ. He discovered his love for music at the age of 5 and since the age of 11, has been leading worship in a variety of settings.

    I am the events coordinator at Hebron Christian Academy, in Dacula, GA (outside the metro Atlanta area). Our private Christian school of approximately 1000 students will be having our annual Walk of Faith event April 26th. We would to discuss having your group come and lead worship for our students and parents.
